Adopting their name from a song they penned before the group's inception, The Gasoline Angels began as a live act, appearing regularly on the L.A. club circuit. Having shared bills with many local favorites including the reunited Doors, the duo of brothers Karim Chatila (vocals & guitar) and Kasey Chatila (drums & keyboards) set about crafting their first record in an underground Hollywood studio. The resulting 2006 eponymous debut was a bittersweet rock album with a dominant sense of melody that created its tension through the marriage of polar forces. The band supported the release with club appearances until a chance encounter with Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age led to an invitation as exclusive opening act on their 'Duluth' tour (KROQ, 6/1/07).

In the fall of 2007 the group returned to the stage, amassing various reviews including a nod from the Los Angeles Times. They then submerged to their subterranean hollow to shape what has become their sophomore effort, Songs To Make Little Girls Cry (2011). Evidenced by layered production and relentless grooves, the album delivers a wall-of-sound attack fueled by a driving momentum. Channeling the energy of their live performances, they have merged percussive bite with ambience to fashion a record that embodies the union of the kinetic and spiritual elements.
